How today’s under 14's were formed

Back in 2002 a group of boys started football training at Power League one night a week, it was the same boys every week and as the parents got to know each other it was decided it would be nice for them to try to get a team together for them to play in.

Andy Marrison the Chairman of Wendene Wanderers was contacted and asked if he would like to coach the boys under the umbrella of Wendene Wanderers, he said yes and wendene Wanderers under 8’s were formed.
Due to other team commitments Andy asked me if I take over the team at the start of the 2003/4 season when they became under 9’s, and I have been training them ever since.

Wendene Wanderers don’t ask players to take a trial to see if they are good enough, if the boys / girls want to play then we let them. Football training is taken very serious by everyone but it is also FUN, after all the boys wouldn’t keep coming back year in, year out, if it wasn’t enjoyable.
